Sustainability at FIX Linens Means Thoughtful Design & Responsible Choices
At FIX Linens, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s a design principle.
We believe the most sustainable bedding is the kind that lasts. From responsibly sourced cotton andR.P.E.T. recycled fiberstorecyclable, earth-friendly packaging, every detail is intentionally crafted to reduce waste and extend the life of your linens. Our goal is simple: create beautiful, durable products that are better for your guests — and better for the planet.
How We Design for a Better Planet
At FIX Linens, sustainability means making smarter choices at every stage — from the materials we source to how we package and deliver our products.
- OEKO-TEX® Certified Materials: Every FIX Linens product meets the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for chemical safety.
- Recycled Fill Made from R.P.E.T.: Our comforters and duvets are filled with Global Recycle Standard–certified recycled down alternative fibers, derived from post-consumer plastic bottles.
- Longer Product Lifecycles: Durable, high-quality construction helps reduce textile waste and the need for frequent replacements.
- Reuse and Recycling Programs: We promote and participate in textile recycling efforts that keep used linens out of landfills and in circulation.
What Is OEKO-TEX® Certified Bedding?
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification ensures that every component of a product — from thread to zipper — is tested for harmful substances and proven safe for human use and the environment.
This independent certification provides peace of mind that FIX Linens bedding is free from harmful chemicals and produced responsibly.
“OEKO-TEX® standards enable everyone to make responsible decisions and protect natural resources. Driven by sustainability and a dedication to transparency, our work is grounded in proven science”. (OEKO-TEX.com)
What Is R.P.E.T. and Why We Use It
Our decision to use R.P.E.T. (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) for our alternative down fill was driven by sustainability and environmental conservation.
R.P.E.T. is recycled plastic — most commonly from bottles and containers — that’s transformed into a soft, lofty microfiber with the same luxurious feel and insulating properties as goose down.
Each FIX Linens duvet filled with recycled R.P.E.T. keeps roughly 30 plastic bottles out of landfills and oceans.
By using R.P.E.T., we:
- Reduce global carbon emissions and energy use
- Support a closed-loop recycling system that keeps valuable materials in use
- Offer hosts a responsible, high-performance alternative to traditional down
What Does “Global Recycled Standard Certified” Mean?
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) verifies that a product contains a minimum of 20% recycled material and is produced using environmentally and socially responsible practices.
To earn GRS certification, a company must demonstrate:
- Ethical sourcing and environmentally conscious production
- Fair treatment of workers following ILO labor standards
- Transparency in recycled content and chemical safety
This certification ensures our recycled materials meet the highest standards for both sustainability and accountability.
“The standard supports companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products as well as responsible social, environmental, and chemical practices in the production of these products.” (SCS Global Services).
Partnerships that Preserve and Conserve
According to SMART, Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association, 95% of used textiles can be recycled, yet 85% end up in landfills.
At FIX Linens, all returned products not fit for redistribution are donated for reuse, repurpose, or recycling. Want to be part of the Fix? We encourage our community of hosts to join us by partnering with local or national textile recycling organizations to help close the loop and keep textiles out of landfills.
Together, we can extend the life of every fabric — and make hosting a little more sustainable.
