The Aries host is driven to their core. Their ultimate goal would be to achieve Super Ultimate Quintuple Star host status- if that was a thing. The Aries ram is goal oriented. Their strengths as a host revolve around the idea that they have little fear heading into new unexplored territory. Their competitive nature makes them rise above in any scenario. Since Aries tends to leap into situations, you may take a bit of time to find success. But don’t fret- you take feedback seriously and see negatives as a challenge rather than an attack. Your natural leadership abilities will almost always result in you assembling a crew of experts that will help you along the way. Once you get it all figured out, don’t be surprised if you are spearheading your own blog or creating a host network in your area. Everyone will be eager to learn from your knowledge and experience.
Taurus

As a Taurus, there were probably two reasons you started in on the hosting game; your love for luxury and amazing get aways, and a business mind that appreciates the power of investments. It would be no surprise if you had an extra property just hanging out; a second home, a vacation villa, or a warehouse you had secured “just in case” that was easily transformed into a money making side gig. Most Taurus hosts find themselves with listings in the luxury category. Even if it is a tiny home or a studio apartment, Taurus hosts will outfit it with the latest and greatest comforts of home that will leave their guests wanting more and leaving five star reviews. As a Taurean host, be cautious of over stressing about the ebbs and flows of the business. As any seasoned host knows- there will be months with ample bookings and months where you wonder if your listing is even active. When slow months or weeks happen, don’t overreact. Give your property time and space. If you are a Taurus that tends to border on the side of anxious, consider investing in a property that will be busy year round- like those resort locations you know and love. These properties usually involve low risk high reward and will leave the Bull sign feeling more at ease, and even better, with a great place to escape.
Gemini
May 21 – Jun. 20
Chances are what drew you to the hosting game is the feeling that you could absolutely crush it- because that’s what you do. Gemini hosts are great communicators and are super capable and driven- especially when it comes to new endeavors. But beware, the Gemini host can get over their head- most likely because they usually have many projects going on at once. Since the creative aspects of hosting are most likely your strong suit, find a way to balance what you love and what you find difficult about the AIRBNB game. In a nutshell- just because you can do it all, doesn’t mean you should. Hiring a management company, cleaning crew, or looking into a way to streamline your listings and communications using applications/ sites like hostaway or lodgify might be just what you need to balance the work and pleasure of your hosting gig.
Cancer
Jun. 21 – Jul. 22
You might be the perfect host! With a personality that blends the ability to be empathetic and the need to make sure everyone is comfortable and feels at home, your properties are probably well received and reviewed. You have a knack for knowing what your guests want and need even before they do. You prepare your space with care and make sure your guests feel valued in all respects. Safeguard yourself by making sure that your business mindedness is not overpowered by your sympathetic self. While most guests can be lovely in all ways, there may be others that want to push your limits of your willingness to please. Make sure you develop well defined boundaries for yourself that are appropriate and don’t prompt the moodiness of your crab sign to rear its head. For example; when a guest reaches out for child care suggestions, DO give them recommendations- DON’T offer to babysit!
Leo

You're a Leo- what’s not to love! Charismatic and a true leader, your ability to charm others will be a benefit in this competitive market. Obsessed with details and well curated decor, you look at your properties as a physical reflection of yourself. This can be great, unless your style is unusual or off trend. And even then you would never admit it. As a proud lion you may need to make sure it is the guest and their needs and not your own that drive your choices. Use those problem solving skills to make improvements or style decisions that will benefit and be well received by all guests. Another option for the dominant leader is to go all in. Obsessed with musicals? Maybe you're the perfect host of a musical themed property where you can attract guests that share your passions and sense of style. Problem solved!
Virgo

With your persistence and ambition, there is no doubt you are a successful host. Business minded to your core, you make sure to think of everything, and your properties are kept spotless and well organized. You provide ample feedback to your guests- but at times your systems and procedures may be a bit too much to maintain. Make sure to balance your perfectionism with reality and know that not every guest is going to be a 5 star. Flexibility and adaptability are important traits to add to your dossier- making you unstoppable.
Libra
Sept. 23 – Oct. 22
Contrary to some other star signs- the Libra host is the master of balancing all things. This translates to a balanced budget, a balance in work and life and even perfect symmetry in decor choices. As a Libra, you are a problem solver and do not shy away from doing hard things- so many issues that others would find insurmountable, you look at as a puzzle to be solved. Your love for travel and friends makes you an amazing host that knows what your guests need. Issues that may arise for the Libra host mostly likely will center around indecisiveness. Make sure you have plenty of coins to flip or a partner that is willing to play rock-paper-scissors when it comes to important or even simple decisions.
Scorpio

With a deep knowledge of people’s desires, you strive to make your property a comfortable oasis for all. It wouldn’t be surprising to see you use rich fabrics and earthy tones to help your guests feel the love you want your property to embody. Your indoor and outdoor spaces most likely glow with ambient lighting and cozy nooks that foster intimate get togethers and engaging conversations. On the negative side- a Scorpio host might be sensitive to less than perfect or even neutral feedback. Don’t overreact with a revenge review or campaign to block unhappy guests. Make sure to read your reviews with a constructivist eye. In addition, Scorpios may get so fixated on the aesthetics of their space, that they forget certain essentials. So Scopio- it’s ok to make your space desirable, but make sure it is also functional and offers more than just a wine opener and a fondue pot in the pantry.
Sagittarius

You might have entered into the hosting game by sheer whim and with high aspirations and ideas galore stemming from your experiences during your own travels. Be cautious- sometimes all that glitters isn’t gold- and full time hosting is not always for the faint of heart or the Sagittarius who loves their freedom. Use your wisdom craving tendencies to do your research and develop plans for your property and their procedures. It would be a good idea to establish a partner in crime that can help manage your responsibilities when that wanderlust activates and you jet off to Greece. After all, being tied down to anything is usually this star sign’s greatest fear.
Capricorn
Dec. 22 – Jan. 19
If there was a match made in heaven, it would be Capricorn and STR hosting. This sign represents time and responsibility- two elements that are vital to making it in this market. A natural born leader, you will have no trouble managing the time, people, and responsibilities involved with owning and running any short term rental property. One challenge you could experience revolves around the hospitality component. With ample self control, let's just say you might come off more prickly pear then a soft teddy bear in your communications. Your dealings with guests while not rude, could be curt and to the point- which may come off in a negative way. Try adding one happy face emoji or an exclamation point to at least one communication a month. Although your inner Capricorn will cringe, your guests might appreciate it! 😀
Aquarius

The Aquarius host is one that wants to make the world a better place. To them, owning an AIRBNB is a way to support a small business model and provide unique properties and travel opportunities to all. Your rentals are smartly outfitted with sustainable products and maybe even unique thrifted pieces that give your space a homey flair. Beware of going overboard on using your property as a platform to promote life changes. While it is reasonable to ask guests to recycle, it is quite another to limit product usage or replace toilet paper with washable cloths! Much of the world isn’t ready for that.
Pisces
Feb. 19 – Mar. 20
As a Pisces host your greatest enjoyment comes from making your guests happy. Your property will most likely include hints to all the things you love, a record player, a well curated selection of entertainment options, and beautiful art might adorn the walls. You will make it your entire preoccupation to make your guests feel cared for and adored. Unfortunately, the thoughtful Pisces might spend way too much time preoccupied with what guests could be feeling or needing that they may not be able to enjoy their own lives. As a Pisces host, establish boundaries and try to not make up “Scooby Doo” scenarios based on “clues” that don’t exist. In other words, that wet towel the last guest left on the floor could have just been the result of a quick shower- not an aggressive statement about the water pressure.
